Age Recommendation:

Come along to the pop-up Fringe Club (at the German Club in Roodehek Terrace) for some great music, comedy and conversation until late. Our line up includes some up and coming bands as well as some comedy voices, poetry slammers and, to round off each Club Night, music from the Future Nostalgia vinyl and art collective. Anything can happen, so make sure you’re there when it does.

Future Nostalgia has been hosting regular listening sessions since 2013 – sharing music through exploring records. The collective is ‘For Selectors, Collectors, Deejays and Diggers’ and celebrates the universal love for music, creating a free open space to bring everyone together in the spirit of rare and experimental music. Future Nostalgia is currently run by co-founder Atiyyah Khan (El Corazon) who works as an arts journalist in Cape Town and visual artist Grant Jurius (Futurist).

Tats Nkonzo is Priveleged at 19:30 – buy a ticket for this show and you get free entry into Future Nostalgia after the performance.

Tats Nkonzo’s 3-year-old kissed a homeless man at the robots. His life changed. “This is my truest and funniest show yet.” Tats says. Tats Nkonzo is Privileged is the hilarious confession of how one comedian went from thinking he was an angel to realising he was an asshole. Winner of the Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award at the 2017 National Arts Festival.

The Jack Mantis Band at 20:30 – buy a ticket for this show and you get free entry into Future Nostalgia after the performance

The Jack Mantis Band have just returned to S.A. after their second successful European tour. Fringe goers can expect a showcase of songs form the upcoming album, and the new South African band line-up. With a history steeped in music and a lifetime spent gaining insight and wisdom the world over, JMB brings something truly generous to their performances – a sense of common humanity and togetherness. The brotherhood between band members and the sincere heart expressed through their music is tangible. It is undeniable that their vision is to create a conscious shift through their music and to hold a space for meaningful shared experiences.
